A Non-destructive Method to Create a Time Series of Surface Area for Coral Using 3D Photogrammetry

چکیده

The wax dip method typically used to determine the surface area of corals for data normalization is destructive, rendering collection time series such impossible. With recent advancements in photogrammetric technology, it now possible collect these a non-destructive manner at very high levels accuracy. This using Agisoft’s Metashape compared standard wax-dip both objects known and unknown area. Objects (i.e., that have areas can be calculated geometrical formulas) were estimated with similar degree accuracy Photogrammetry (PG) ( R 2 = 0.9922, slope 0.9835) as 0.9872, 1).
